Option 1: Short Instructional Video

Create a minimum 3 minute video where you explain how to do something or discuss a topic you know well. Your audience should be someone who would benefit from your knowledge.

Option 1 Examples

Explain a hobby or skill (e.g., “How to Bake a Simple Cake” or “How to Improve Your Running Form”).
Share advice on a topic (e.g., “3 Tips for Effective Public Speaking” or “How to Manage Your Study Time”).
Teach a concept from your field of work or study (e.g., “Understanding Basic Coding” or “How to Handle a Customer Complaint”).

Option 2: Community Interaction Project

Attend an English-speaking event or participate in a real-world conversation where English is the primary language. Then, summarize your experience and what you learned in an audio recording.

Option 2 Examples

Attend a community meeting, book club, or networking event and describe how you participated.
Join a guided tour or museum visit and summarize key takeaways from the guide’s explanations.
Have a conversation with a native English speaker (e.g., a mentor, coworker, or language exchange partner) and reflect on what went well.

Option 1 Requirements

Clear Organization – Introduce your topic, explain key points, and conclude concisely.
Reading Component – Reference and summarize one written source (e.g., article, blog, guide, textbook) in your own words. Cite it in your reflection.
Specialized Vocabulary – Use topic-specific language naturally, including:
- 5 phrasal verbs
- 3 collocations
- 2 idioms or common phrases
Q&A Component – Prepare and answer three open-ended questions on your topic.
Pronunciation Awareness – Apply one strategy from the course (e.g., stress patterns, silent letters).
Engagement & Delivery – Speak clearly, use varied intonation, and ensure accessibility.

Option 2 Requirements

Record a 3-minute audio reflection that includes:

Context & Purpose – Describe the event, attendees, and your reason for attending.
Reading Component – Summarize one key insight from a related article, blog, or written source.
Active Language Use – Include:
- 3 new phrases or expressions you encountered
- 2 questions you asked or answered
- 1 pronunciation challenge you noticed
Specialized Vocabulary – Use topic-specific terms correctly in your summary.
Question and Answer (Q&A) Component – Prepare and answer three open-ended questions about your experience.
